Gynecology Q & A

What is gynecology care?

A woman’s overall wellness involves proper reproductive and pelvic organ care. Gynecology encompasses the prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of issues dealing with your pelvic organ health.

At New Experience OB/GYN and Medspa, Dr. Fulton provides compassionate, supportive support for your personal health needs.

What is included in gynecological care?

Dr. Fulton offers services associated with your gynecological health that include

  • Yearly wellness exams, including cancer screenings
  • Evaluation and management of Pap smears and HPV infections
  • Diagnosis and treatment of menstrual disorders, including abnormal bleeding, amenorrhea, and PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome)
  • Adolescent gynecology, including HPV vaccinations
  • Contraception
  • Minimally invasive surgeries to correct issues such as fibroids and endometriosis
  • Menopause management, including hormonal and nonhormonal treatment options

When you regularly visit New Experience OB/GYN and Medspa, Dr. Fulton gets to know you and your health patterns. She can identify any issues that arise early and treat them before they develop into serious complications.

What is involved in routine gynecological care?

Regular well-woman visits are an essential part of your gynecological health and care. At the Center for Women’s Health, Dr. Fulton reviews your health and goes over any questions you raise about your menstrual cycles, sexuality, or pelvic floor symptoms.

At your annual exam, Dr. Fulton evaluates your overall health and wellness with an emphasis on breast and pelvic organ health. You undergo a comprehensive pelvic exam, possibly including a Pap smear, as well as a clinical breast exam. She schedules you for any important screenings you may be due for, such as mammograms.

You should get an annual pelvic exam beginning in your late teens or early 20s and continue with the annual visits into your childbearing years and into menopause.

Your gynecological needs change during each phase of your life, but your need for solid, quality gynecological care does not.

Whether you need guidance in regards to menstruation, birth control, pelvic pain, pregnancy, or menstruation, Dr. Fulton is available to help
